DILLON DANIS CROSSES THE LINE

PLUS: UFC IN HOT WATER

Fight fans! After weeks of beef, we’re moments away from UFC 292. We can’t wait to see how this one pans out but first, let’s see what else has been cooking lately.

MCGREGOR CALLS OUT KSI

Conor McGregor and Youtuber KSI were both present at the DAZN boxing event last week opposing Anthony Joshua and Robert Helenius. After Joshua's victory, McGregor got in the ring and challenged KSI to a crossover boxing match but on the condition that it be a bare-knuckle fight. KSI is set to fight Tommy Fury on October 14, while McGregor's UFC return date remains uncertain.

THE UFC IN HOT WATER

A decade after being initiated, a lawsuit filed by around 1,200 MMA professionals has finally been certified by a judge. The UFC is accused of unlawful business practices that have hindered fighters' livelihoods. The main charges include restrictive contracts, agressive athlete management and the unfair monopoly of the sport through the acquisition of competitors. While the ultimate impact on MMA remains uncertain, the lawsuit sheds light on concerns within the industry.

DILLON TROLLS LOGAN’S FIANCÉE

Dillon Danis stirred controversy by involving Logan Paul's fiancée, Nina Agdal, in their ongoing feud. Over the past few days, Dillon’s been posting ‘spicy’ photos of Agdal’s past relationships on Twitter. The inappropriate nature of some of the images have sparked strong reactions from fans and from Logan, who wasted no time sending a cease and desist letter to Dillon. The boxing match between Danis and Paul scheduled for October remains uncertain as tensions escalate.

CONOR MAINTAINS HE WILL FIGHT CHANDLER IN DECEMBER

Despite claiming he'll fight Chandler in December, McGregor has not re-entered USADA's testing pool and hasn't been tested since 2021. While USADA requires six months of testing and two negative samples before competition, an exemption may be granted, a move many believe raises concerns about fair implementation of rules. It wouldn’t be the first time this happened though, as exceptions have been made in the past for high-profile fighters such as Brock Lesnar.

ALJO TO MOVE UP TO FEATHERWEIGHT

Aljamain Sterling is hinting that UFC 292 might mark his final appearance as the bantamweight champion, whether he wins or loses. He's considering a move to featherweight and confirmed that his fight against Sean O'Malley will likely be his last at 135 pounds. Sterling is motivated by two factors: his teammate Merab Dvalishvili's title aspirations and the challenges of the 40-pound weight cuts.
