CONOR THREATENS FERGUSON
PLUS: FURY GOES BALLISTIC

Fight fans! Even though there’s no major event this week, the main fight between Holloway and the Korean Zombie promises to be action-packed. Without further ado, let’s dig into this week’s notable events.

SUGA CALLS OUT GERVONTA DAVIS
Sean O'Malley is eyeing a lucrative crossover bout and has set his sights on WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis for a boxing match. O'Malley, the new UFC bantamweight champion, believes a showdown with Davis could replicate the spectacle of Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather. While stating that he would bring in the most eyeballs, O'Malley recognized that their combined star power could make for a significant payday.

CHAOS ERUPTS AT DAZN PRESS CONFERENCE
The press conference for the Tommy Fury vs. KSI fight on October 14 took a wild turn due to heated exchanges involving John Fury, Logan Paul, and Dillon Danis. John expressed frustration over the lack of boxing-related questions, leading to a table-flipping incident that ended the event. Tommy Fury aims to defeat KSI and end celebrity boxing, while Logan Paul engaged in a personal feud with Danis, who had taunted Paul's fiancée, Nina Agdal, online. Amid the chaos, the scheduled face-off was canceled.
WWE ROYALTY FOUND DEAD AT 36
Tragedy has struck the wrestling world as WWE Superstar Bray Wyatt has passed away at 36, as confirmed by his father, Hall of Famer Mike Rotunda. Wyatt, a three-time world champion, had a multifaceted career and was renowned for his unique character, including his alter ego The Fiend. Fellow wrestlers and fans mourned his sudden loss, with tributes pouring in from legends like The Rock and Ric Flair. According to the latest reports, the cause of his death was a heart attack.

MCGREGOR SENDS WARNING TO FERGUSON
Conor McGregor has reigniting his long-standing feud with Tony Ferguson. Despite their fight never materializing, the two fighters have continued their rivalry on social media over the years. Ferguson recently shared his frustrations and plans not to retire on Instagram, prompting McGregor to respond on X, “I’m gonna end you and badly“. While McGregor is gearing up for a delayed return in early 2024 against Michael Chandler, Ferguson's future opponent and timeline remain uncertain due to his recent six-fight losing streak.

ALJO SEEKS REVENGE AGAINST O’MALLEY
Coming off his third title defense, it’s a confident Aljamain Sterling who arrived ready to face Sean O’Malley at UFC 292. However in round two, O’Malley stunned the champion with a highlight-reel right hand and secured a stoppage win. Sterling, previously interested in facing Alexander Volkanovski at featherweight, had his aspirations for a champ-champ status dashed by the loss. Despite his earlier non-committal stance, Sterling now seems determined to seek a rematch with O’Malley, announcing on X his plans to stay in the bantamweight division with a potential rematch set for 2024, even as O’Malley hints at a potential December return.
Rematch 2024. Game of inches. I’ll be back.

Worked on a few side projects this week. We’re wrapping things up on doing a first merch drop. We’ve been testing shirts & other items for months and finally came up with some quality stuff. We’re also probably gonna change the name of the newsletter next week. Don’t be surprised if “Fight Films Newsletter” changes to something else, something more aligned with what the newsletter is outside of Fight Films. Enjoy your weekend guys!
